Q: Currently I pull an older two horse trailer and I love the smooth starts and stops. Before I installed my Quic'n Easy it seemed I had a vet bill after every trip with the horses, I have not had a vet bill since, it is great! My problem is that we are going to buy a new much larger horse trailer that will carry four horses plus a small tack area. We do not really want to go to a gooseneck trailer… will my Quic'n Easy handle the larger load?
A: The problem with the larger load won't be your hitch but it may be your truck. The Quic'n Easy is rated for up to 14,000 lbs, most standard pick-up trucks are only rated for 8,500 lbs and a three or four horse trailer will have a GVW closer to 10,000 lbs. Your hitch has plenty of capacity, but check on your truck to be sure it has a towing capacity to tow that size load.
